Let more love in
"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." — Charles Dickens
I've never been good at asking for help.
For most of my life, I just did things myself — quietly, without making a fuss. If I was struggling, I kept it to myself. Asking felt like admitting I couldn't cope, so mostly, I didn't. I managed. I made do. I told everyone I was fine.
So you can imagine what ataxia asked of me.
It didn't just change my balance. It asked me to become the person on the other side of the outstretched hand — the one who has to say, out loud, I can't quite manage this on my own.
